News Flash!

I don't have much time to post lately as I am working some very long days at work interviewing every employee in one of our area programs. I have been leaving at 7:30am and getting home at 9:00pm. I will talk more later of this work adventure. The great news is the pocket knives our closed, my son Andy showed me all the tricks with the knives. My oldest son Seth came by and started the lawn mower and he informed me if you have gas in it, it will start much easier! Who would have thought?!?!?

Who would have thought, indeed? Glad the knives are finally closed. We'll be interested to hear about the work adventure whenever you have time to tell about it.

Isn't it amazing the things we learn????? I had to have the gas dude out here the other day to get my gas logs burning - I was so sure he was going to embarrass me with something simple like you are out of gas - or is it plugged in - or did you turn the on switch ON? Ya know, tough stuff like that... Well, he did embarrass me, sorta - the pilot light would not stay lit because of the dust on it. Dang! I really truly did dust the dumb things before I tried to light it - I had a friend who had a dust fire - really, it CAN happen - but the pilot nozzle needed compressed air blown on it - just plain dusting would not have made any difference...
All I can say is he should have seen the spider webs and cricket bodies I cleaned out of that fireplace. It was a busy place over the summer, I guess.
I am anxious to see what your next lesson is!

Hi Marda Barda, I had just been thinking that since you have kids, put them to work! And you did it without my coaching.
Really isn't that why we have kids, to help us as we get forgetful, etc?

Be careful with the lawn mower. Always stop it before doing any work or clearing any piled up grass or mud on it. Unless you have some extra toes you want to get rid of, that is.

I don't know if you are getting overtime or comp-time or neither but keep good time records anyway.

That is all the helpful hints I have for today. :-)
I am glad you found to do blogging.

You'd be hard pressed to find someone who hasn't had a forehead slapping moment with at least one household gadget. .... Sounds like good material for a book. Don't work too hard, Marla.

If I were you I would continue by pleading that the lawn mower just won't start and while you're here could you just mow it for me.

Marla, looks like you have some learning to do.....lol.

Sorry you are having to work so many hours, but it should help pay the bills. The way the economy is, thank God that you have a job.

Those are long days but will be worth it when you are done. Speaking from experience, gas works the same way in a car. But, I'm with you - who would have thought.

Hi Marla! Sorry you have to work so many hours at work. Can't wait to here more about the interviewing.

I remember the first lawn mower I bought. I added the oil and gas and started pulling on the pull cord. Wouldn't start. I exhausted myself and went and sat on the step talking to myself. I was looking over at the mower and noticed the spark plug and this black thing hanging in front of it. I went over and put the the black thing on the spark plug and pull the cord again. Guess what? It started. Who would have thought? I got a good laugh out of it. Lisa

I'm glad the lawn mower started, I think.
I also can't wait to hear about your interviewing adventures. I think we might work in the same field.

Many blessings to Andy and Seth!

I hope the interviews are going well. With the way things are, there must be tons of qualified people out there looking for jobs. I hope your work days get shorter for you soon.

Gas does work wonders, but not if you fart. Believe me!

Oh Marla, I've seen the same learning curve but with my father...after my mother passed. His first comment was..."Where do all the socks go in the dryer!" Now he says that "Viva" paper towels are life's little luxury. I'm glad you are finding your smile again and sharing it with us.
