Busy, Busy!

I have been way to busy lately to find time to do a meaningful post! Yes, I missed the Sunday Post, Experiencing God! I will get back to doing that when I get into the groove of my new job. My first day was fine, and I have today off. The next three will be long and not as pleasant, lot's of meetings. I have lots to do today, trying to take care of things in regards to the business end of my hubby's death. Making all the calls that I can't do at work. Some of you have asked what song was playing when Pete and I had our last dance. I don't know, it didn't matter, and I am not sure that I heard music! I was caught up in the moment of the embrace! There must of been music, cause my mom and dad were dancing next to us in the photo!

Wow, the having your second day of a new job off! I sure am glad your first was a good day.
When you missed the Sunday Post, I thought first of the newspaper. Then I remembered your Experiencing God series. It won't have to be EVERY Sunday you know.

The only song I can remember dancing with Mrs. Jim was Proud Mary. That time was back before we got married although we still do get up and dance if it is played.

I know some of what you are going through, Mrs. Jim and I helped a lady in our subdivision when her husband died. A lot of help. Then she got the same colon cancer that her husband died of and she has died as well. It was this spring, not even 18 months after her husband died.

Now we are helping her survivors and executors as much as we can. She didn't have any children or any blood relatives in the United States. Mrs. Jim was like a sister to her.
She gave Mrs. Jim her dog, Katrin (search for her on my blog), in her will. Katrin is a toy poodle who is very spoiled.

It's the embrace that counts. I hope you never forget that feeling.

As for your new job, I hope you come to enjoy it as much as your last one.

Every day at work is a new job for me. They still haven't defined my job so it changes daily. I wish you the best at your new job and new life.

Hello Marla
I hope you remembered to take care of yourself during this stressful day.
As Jim said -
Wow to having a day off as soon as you start a new job.
Treat everyday as a learning experience and the bad ones will soon be good ones lol
At least thats what I was told when I started once. Not saying whether it worked or not :))
Take care
Cathy

You are a busy little bee.
Take the time you need, and we (your blog buddies) will be ready to read whatever you have time to write.
I hope your new job is rewarding and not overwhelming.
I'm sure that dealing with the business end of your husband's death is very trying on you.

Glad the new job is working out. Hopefully not to many meetings (I hate meetings).
I just watched the dash. I had read it before but never had seen the movie. That is great and served quite well in place of your Experiencing God post.

I really like what Scarlet wrote. It's the embrace that counts - AMEN. Guard the memory.

I definitely agree with those who said "It's the embrace that counts." What a lovely memory.

We should all be so lucky as to "live like you were dying" as the Tim MsGraw song says. You and Peter were doing that at that moment. Except I would change one word in that song "LOVE like you were dying." What a blessing!

Your every blog entry amazes me. How did you become such a strong woman? You are moving ahead with life and responsibility while so many would just curl up. I do admire you so!

I think I would rather be caught up in the moment too.....I hope things settle in at your new job and that you can take care of the paper work/phone work that goes along with someone that died....I'll never forget all the work it took when my dad died....I wish you luck.

It was so good to see you today Marla. I thought it went well considering, and you'll do fine. The other governing board member beat me to the punch. I was going to tell the group that another program was giving up the best so they could get their program back on track. Good luck. I do however, doubt that you'll need it.

I always appreciate it when you take time out from your busy schedule to stop by my blog. You do not go unnoticed. Thank you.

And how did you wrangle a day off after only one day on the job? I once had a job where the boss and his wife took me out to a fancy-schmancy Chinese restaurant on my first day at work.

I pray your new job will be a blessing to you.

I do love that picture of your husband and you're so right - in that moment all you know is each other.
